Day 72: Know It, Believe It, Receive It

Day 72: Know It, Believe It, Receive It
March 12, 2015 Joel Grantham

“You shall come to the grave at a full age, as a sheaf of grain ripens in its season.”  Job 5:26

Make no mistake about it!  It is never God’s will for someone to die at a young age.  Throughout God’s Word, time and time again, He promises His children a long and healthy life!  However, like all of the promises of God, this promise will not come automatically, it must be received by faith.

Before someone can receive something from God they must first know that it is God’s will for them to have it.  This is exactly what Romans 10:14 means when it asks, “How shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?”  It is impossible to believe God for a promise that you did not know He was offering?  Sadly, so many people today do not realize that God has promised them long life in His Word.

The next step in receiving something that God has promised is faith.  One must actively believe the promise and claim it for themselves.  We see this clearly in Romans 10:14 when it asks, “And how shall they call on Him in whom they have not BELIEVED?”  You see, it is one thing to hear or read about God’s promise of long life but it is another thing altogether to believe it!  Sadly, many let church tradition or their personal experience with the tragic death of a loved one rob themof their faith in God’s promise of long life.

The only part of the Bible that will work for you is the part that you believe!  If you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth Jesus as your Savior and Lord, then He will be your Savior and Lord.  If you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is your healer, He will be your healer.  And if you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that God has promised you a long life, you will live a long life!

Never talk sickness or death!  It doesn’t matter if long life runs in your family or not.  All that matters is what God has promised you!  Begin to thank God everyday for His for promises of health and long life and boldly declare what Job 5:26 says; “You shall come to the grave at a full age!”

Confession:  It is not God’s will for me to die at an early age.  It is His will for me to live a long and healthy life.
