Day 68: Divine Access

Day 68: Divine Access
March 9, 2015 Joel Grantham

“Now it happened that on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the King’s palace, across from the King’s house, while the King sat on his royal throne in the royal house, facing the entrance of the house.  So it was, when the King saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the King held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand.  Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter.”  Esther 5:1-2

Have you ever felt like your prayers were not getting through?  Like the heavens over you were closed?  Has it ever seemed like God was a million miles away when you were calling out to Him?

I’m sure that you know the story of Esther.  If not, I encourage you to read the whole book.  It paints a beautiful picture of how we have access into God’s presence through the work of Christ on the cross.

Like Esther, not just anyone can come into God’s presence.  In Isaiah 59:2 the Bible says that our sins have separated us from God so that He will not hear us when we pray to Him.  “But your iniquities have separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.”  This is a big problem, considering the fact that we have all sinned (Romans 3:23)!

Throughout God’s Word, He has made many promises concerning the healing of our bodies.  Yet, Ephesians 2:12 tells us that, because of sin, we are “strangers from the covenants of promise.”  In other words, God’s promises of health and healing do not apply to the sinner.

However, I have good news for you today!  Ephesians 2:13 says, “But NOW in Christ Jesus you who once were far off (from the promises) have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”  Because of what Jesus has done for you and me on the cross, we now have access to ALL of God’s promises, including those of health and healing!

Do you have a need for physical healing today?  Just like the King extended the royal scepter to Esther, granting her access and eventually granting her request, God has extended to you the cross of His own Son.  Today, God is granting you access into His very presence because of what Jesus has done for you.  He will not turn you away and He will not deny your request!  When you are IN CHRIST God says “YES” to ALL of His promises. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Confession:  I have access into the throne room of God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  All of the promises of God belong to me.
