Day 36: None Shall Be Barren

Day 36: None Shall Be Barren
February 4, 2015 Joel Grantham

“You shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock.”  Deuteronomy 7:14

Having and raising children is truly one of life’s greatest pleasures, for it is God’s plan for the human race to “be fruitful and multiply”.  One of the greatest days of my life was the day each of my four beautiful children were born.  Psalm 127:3 declares, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.”

God loves children!  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me.”  Did you know that having children is a sign of God’s blessing upon you?  Psalm 127:4-5 tells us that the man who has many children will be happy.  “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.  Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.”

My heart breaks for those married couples who are having difficulty in getting pregnant.  However, I want you to know that there is hope!  Time and time again throughout His Word, God has promised that those who belong to Him will not be barren.  Here in Deuteronomy we find a mighty promise for anyone who might be having difficulty conceiving.  Whether the problem is with you or your spouse, it doesn’t matter.  God said, “There shall not be a MALE or FEMALE barren among you.”  So before you turn to an earthly physician for help, turn to the Great Physician Himself.  It is His will for you to have children!  Faith in God will always work!

One of the most powerful prayers that a person can pray is the prayer of agreement.  Jesus taught us this prayer in Matthew 18:19 when He said, “If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”  Here we find one of the most amazing benefits of the marriage relationship – agreement!  If you and your spouse will enter into a steadfast agreement that God will answer your prayer for children, it will surely be answered.

Below I have included a faith filled prayer of agreement for you to pray together.  Now you must know that the prayer of agreement will only work if both parties are in agreement for the thing that they ask.  So before praying, discuss what it is you will be specifically asking God for.  If both of you can agree, then it will be granted to you.

Prayer of Agreement:  Lord, we ask you for a healthy baby according to your promise in Deuteronomy 7:14.  We fully agree that we will have a healthy child.  We thank you in advance for answering our prayer.
