Day 35: What’s Behind The Door?

Day 35: What’s Behind The Door?
February 3, 2015 Joel Grantham

“Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.”  Deuteronomy 6:23

Receiving the New Birth is not the end of what God has planned for you, it is only the beginning!  In John 10:9 Jesus said, “I am the door.”  Have you ever stopped to ask yourself what is behind the door?  Salvation is an amazing gift from God, but there is so much more that God has for you!

When God delivered the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt that was only the beginning of what God had planned for His people.  The reason that He brought them OUT of Egypt was so that He could bring them IN to the Promised Land!  Sadly, they wandered in the desert for forty years until a new generation arose with the faith to possess the Promised Land.

Egypt in the Bible is a type and shadow of sin.  Like the Israelites, God delivered us from sin when we accepted Jesus Christ into our heart by faith.  But like the Israelites, God has more blessings and promises for us to possess!

Before you were saved, you did not qualify for the blessings of God.  Frankly, they did not belong to you.  Ephesians 2:12 says before we were saved we were, “Without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and STRANGERS FROM THE COVENANTS OF PROMISE, having no hope and without God in the world.”  We were separated from God’s wonderful promises, including His promises of health and healing.

Think about it.  The unbeliever has no covenant with God.  He has no right to even be heard when he prays.  The only prayer that God hears the unsaved pray is the prayer of repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ.  Proverbs 15:29 says, “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.”  When God heals an unbeliever, He does so because of His mercy; but when God heals a believer, He does so because of His covenant!

Ephesians 2:13 goes on to give us some very exciting news!  “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”  We were once separated from God’s wonderful promises, including His promises of health and healing.  But now that we have received Jesus, we have been brought near to those promises.  In other words, because you are a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ, you now have legal access to all of His promises!

You do not have to beg for God to heal you!  Healing is your covenant right.  It belongs to you.  Jesus died so that you could have it!  It is the children’s bread (Matthew 15:26).  Stop begging and start praising!  You are well able to possess your Promised Land of health and healing by faith!

Confession:  Healing belongs to me.  It is my covenant right through Jesus Christ my Lord.  Sickness, you have no right to attach yourself to my body.  My body has been purchased by the blood of Jesus!
