“See, I have set the land before you; go in and posses the land which the Lord swore to your fathers- to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob- to give to them and their descendents after them.” Deuteronomy 1:8
The Promised Land is not symbolic of heaven. After all, there are no giants in heaven that have to be defeated and there are no walled cities that have to come down before we can enter. No, the Promised Land doesn’t represent heaven; it represents the abundant life that Jesus Christ has made available to everyone who has been born again.
Egypt represents the old life of bondage to sin before you and I were saved. The Israelites were delivered from Egypt the night they partook of the Passover Lamb. In the very same way, you and I came out of our Egypt – sin – the moment that we received Jesus, the Lamb of God, as our Lord and Savior.
As wonderful as the New Birth in Christ is, God still has more for you and me to receive. Salvation is not the end, it is only the beginning! It is one thing to have come out of Egypt, but it is another thing altogether to have gone in and possessed the Promised Land. Coming out is not the same thing as going in!
Sadly, most Christians are still wandering in the wilderness. God’s will is not only for you to come out of Egypt, He wants you to go in and possess the Promised Land! He wants you to experience an abundant life of peace, prosperity and health! I am glad that I do not have to wait until I get to heaven to enjoy the benefits of my salvation!
Your Promised Land includes many wonderful blessings such as the fullness of the Spirit, financial abundance and physical health, just to name a few. But just like the children of Israel, you must go in and possess the land. I loved to hear Kenneth Hagin say, “The promises of God will not fall on your head like ripe cherries off a tree!”
The promises of God do not come in our life automatically. Once you are saved they are made available, but they will never be yours until you possess them. The promises of God must be received by faith.
Today, I want to encourage you to stop waiting on God to bring you into your promised land of healing. He is waiting on you to go in and possess the promises of God! Faith in God is not passive, it is active. Real faith is bold and tenacious! In Matthew 11:12 Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”
Healing belongs to you! It is your Promised Land! Now go in and possess it by faith!
Confession: I am well able to overcome sickness and disease and possess God’s promise of health and healing.
