Day 17: You Do Not Have To Be Sick

Day 17: You Do Not Have To Be Sick
January 16, 2015 Joel Grantham

“No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”  Exodus 23:26

Today’s scripture contains three amazing promises of health and healing for those who are born again.  First of all, God promises that none of His children will have a miscarriage.  The Scriptures tell us that children are a blessing from the Lord Himself.  Psalm 127:3 declares, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.”  I cannot even begin to imagine the emotional pain an expectant mother experiences when she loses her unborn child while still in her womb.  God’s Word is very clear that this is NEVER His doing or His will for our lives!

Secondly, God promises that none of His children will be barren.   O the joy that having children brings to your life!  One of the happiest days of my life was when my wife told me that we were going to have a baby.  Today, I am the proud father of four amazing kids!  My heart breaks for those couples who are having trouble getting pregnant.  However, God makes it very clear in His Word that it is never His will for any married couple to be unable to conceive.  If you have been struggling in this area, be encouraged.  God has promised that you will have children!

Lastly, God says that He will fulfill the number of our days.  Here God promises that none of His children would experience an early death.  His Word is clear that it is always His will for us to live a long life (Psalm 91:16).  It is never God’s doing or His plan for His children to die young.  I encourage you to begin claiming by faith that you will live a long healthy life according to God’s Word.

We must remember that the promises of God do not come upon our lives automatically.  They must be received by faith.  In other words, just because you are a Christian does not mean that you will never be sick, suffer a miscarriage or die at a young age.  It does mean however, that because you are a Christian, you do not have to be sick, suffer a miscarriage or die young!  If you will claim God’s promises by faith, they will become a reality in your life.  Never forget, the only part of the Word that will work for you is the part that you claim and believe for yourself!

Confession:

(for wife) According to God’s Word, my womb has been blessed by God and I give birth to healthy children, always carrying them to full-term.  I declare that I will live a long and healthy life.

(for husband) According to God’s Word, my wife and I will have healthy children, carrying each of them to full-term.  I declare that I will live a long and healthy life.
