Day 166: Healing Made Easy

Day 166: Healing Made Easy
July 15, 2015 Joel Grantham

“For which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk?’”  Matthew 9:5

Man oh man, what a question!  Here, Jesus makes it clear that with God it is just as easy to heal our bodies as it is to forgive our sins.  It is also just as easy for you and me to receive healing for our bodies as it is for us to receive salvation!  Now I know for most people it doesn’t seem like this is so.  But if Jesus said it, it must be true.  Now let’s explore why it is so.

First of all, we must remember that healing and salvation both come from the same place, the cross of Jesus Christ.  Sickness came into the world, not by God’s design, but because of sin.  Therefore, when Jesus paid the price for our sin, He also, at the same time, paid the price for our sickness and disease.

Secondly, healing, just like salvation, is received by faith.  In other words, the same way that a person receives salvation is the very same way that they receive healing.  Our salvation cannot be earned by doing good works and neither can physical healing.  Healing does not come on the basis of our righteousness but on the basis of our faith in His righteousness!

Receiving salvation is a much greater miracle than receiving physical healing.  After all, it is an easy thing for God to repair the body that He created.  But when it comes to receiving salvation, there is much more involved.  When you and I received Jesus as Savior much more happened than simply having our sins forgiven.

When you and I were saved the very same Holy Spirit that moved upon the face of the waters in Genesis chapter one came to live on the inside of you (Romans 8:9).  God also imparted into your human spirit His very own nature (2 Peter 1:4).  He also gave you His own righteousness making you and me as righteous as Himself (2 Corinthians 5:21).

In my healing ministry I meet precious believers all the time who are struggling to receive healing for their body.  Most of the time they are struggling with having confidence in their own faith.  It is not uncommon to hear someone say that they don’t think that they have enough faith to receive healing.  I always tell them, if you have faith to receive salvation then you have faith to receive healing.  After all, they both come from the same place, the cross of Christ, and they are both received the very same way.  Besides that, if you have received salvation, then you have already received the greatest miracle that a person could receive.  If your faith can receive the new birth in Christ then it will certainly work for you to receive physical healing!

Confession:   Healing and salvation are both received the same way, by faith.  It is just as easy to be healed as it is to be saved.  My faith is working for me!
