Day 142: You Are Healed

Day 142: You Are Healed
May 28, 2015 Joel Grantham

“I taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms; but they did not know that I healed them.”  Hosea 11:3

God delivering Israel out of bondage in Egypt is a perfect prophetic picture of how, through Christ, we were delivered from the bondage of sin.  In the Bible, Egypt is always symbolic of the life of sin.  In Hebrews 8:9 it says that God led them out of Egypt, holding their hand.

Like Israel, we all began our Christian life as babes in Christ (1 Corinthians 3:1).  1 Peter 2:2 tells us, “As NEWBORN BABES, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”  None of us start out as mature believers.  We must grow in our faith.  We must learn to walk before we can run!  Thankfully God is a very patient and nurturing Father Who teaches us how to walk with Him!

When God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, the Bible says that He healed every one of them from their sickness and diseases.  Psalm 105:37 says, “He also brought them out with silver and gold, AND THERE WAS NONE FEEBLE AMONG HIS TRIBES.”  In the very same way, the moment you and I came out of sin by receiving the new birth in Christ, we were also healed of our sicknesses and diseases.

But sadly, so many Christians today are just like Ephraim as seen in Hosea 11:3 when God said, “But they did not know that I healed them.”   The church has not yet understood that physical healing was purchased on the cross two thousand years ago.  Healing is not something that God gives today; it is Someone that God gave two thousand years ago!

One of the biggest hindrances to God’s people receiving healing is that they are still waiting for God to give them what He has already given!  1 Peter 2:24 doesn’t tell us that God is going to heal us; it says that He already has.  It declares, “By Whose stripes YOU WERE HEALED.”

Stop waiting for God to heal you and start believing that He already has!  Understand that we are not waiting on God to heal us; rather God is waiting on us to receive the healing that He has already provided!

Confession:   By His stripes I am healed!
