Day 141: God Will Forgive And Heal You

Day 141: God Will Forgive And Heal You
May 28, 2015 Joel Grantham

“Come, and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.”  Hosea 6:1

I love this wonderful portion of God’s Word because it offers hope!  Many times (not every time) sickness and disease gains entrance into our life because of our disobedience to God’s written word or to His specific will for our life.  Any time we get outside of God’s will, we are outside of His protection.  The moment you step outside of His will you become vulnerable for the enemy to attack.

However, here in Hosea 6:1 God promises that “HE WILL HEAL US,” and that “HE WILL BIND US UP.”  No matter WHY sickness has struck your life, in His love and mercy, God still promises to forgive and to heal you.

Many times I come across people who, because of the guilt of past failures and sins, do not believe that God will heal them.  However, this is a lie of the enemy.  In 1 John 2:1 the Bible says, “If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”  And in 1 John 1:9 God promises, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  The plain and simple truth is that SIN cannot keep you from your healing!

If you have sinned by being disobedient to God’s Word or His plan for your life, the first thing that you need to do is confess your sin to God and ask Him to wash you afresh with His precious blood.  The next thing you need to do is to repent of your sin, which simply means to turn the other way.  In other words, stop doing what you were doing, and begin doing what God commands you to do.  Once you do this, your sin will be completely removed and there will be no hindrance for you to receive your healing from the Lord.

Consider Proverbs 28:13 which says, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever CONFESSES and FORSAKES them will have mercy.”  As long as there remains unconfessed and unrepented sin in your life, your prayers will not be heard and your faith will not work.  Consider these other verses on the subject.  Psalm 66:18 declares, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.”  Proverbs 15:29 says, “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.”

So, no matter what sin you may have committed in the past, if you will humble yourself before God by confessing and forsaking your sin, you will find complete forgiveness and restoration.  Once this is accomplished, the door to sickness and disease will be closed!

Prayer & Confession:  “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.  Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.  I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.”  Psalm 51:1-3
