“For thus says the Lord: ‘Your affliction is incurable, your wound is severe. There is no one to plead your cause, that you may be bound up; you have no healing medicines.” Jeremiah 30:12-13
Sickness, like sin, is an incurable affliction apart from the blood of Jesus Christ. Mankind cannot save himself from his sins, nor can he heal himself when he is sick. Apart from Christ, humanity has no healing medicines.
What about modern medicines and the help of doctors, you ask? Trusting in doctors for healing is like trusting in religion for your salvation. Humanity has tried to solve its sin problem through religion and its sickness problem through modern medical science. Both religion and modern medical science is man’s attempt to fix what only God can do.
Religion may make a person look better on the outside, but it cannot fix the sin problem that is deep within their heart. Doctors, through the use of medicine, may be able to treat your symptoms, but they ultimately fail in curing you from the plague of sickness and disease that permeates this planet.
Sickness and disease is incurable by modern medicine. The reason – sickness is not the result of a physical condition, but the result of a spiritual one. Sickness came into the earth through the fall of man. When Adam and Eve sinned, their sin gave entrance to sickness and disease in on planet. Before sin entered the earth, there was no sickness. So you see, sickness cannot be cured through natural means. Since sickness came into the world through the fall of man, then only through the redemption of man can we be healed.
Apart from Christ, we have no one to cure us of our sickness and disease, no one to “plead our cause.” However, in 1 Timothy 2:5 we learn that Jesus acts as a mediator between God and man. It says, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” 1 John 2:1 calls Jesus our Advocate (a person who speaks or writes in support or defense of smeone) when it says, “If anyone SINS, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” If Jesus is our advocate when we sin, He would also be our advocate when we are sick, because sin and sickness are linked together (with sin being the root and sickness being the fruit.)
Hebrews 7:25 tells us that Jesus continually intercedes for us. It says, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession from them.” If He is able to SAVE to the uttermost, then He is also able to HEAL to the uttermost! You are not alone in your sickness and disease, Jesus is the Mediator, Advocate and Intercessor for your healing.
Confession: I have been redeemed from sin and sickness by the blood of Jesus Christ. Physical healing belongs to me.
