Day 127: Saved And Healed

Day 127: Saved And Healed
May 13, 2015 Joel Grantham

“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.”  Jeremiah 17:14

Physical healing is just as much God’s will for you as salvation.  After all, they were both purchased on the cross of Christ!  It is just as much God’s will to heal you as it is His will to save you!

Wherever you read about the “forgiveness or redemption of sins” in the Bible, it also includes healing for our physical body.  Why?  Because sin and sickness are forever linked together.  You see, sickness was not created by God.  It was never God’s plan for the human race to suffer with sickness and disease.  Sickness came into the earth when sin came into the earth.  Sin gave birth to sickness.  (See Romans 5:12.)

Sickness and disease are not the result of a physical condition, but the result of a spiritual condition called the “fall of man”.  Therefore, sickness cannot be cured by natural means – through doctors and medicine.  It can only be completely cured as the result of a spiritual solution called the “redemption of man”.

When Jesus died on the cross to free us from sin, by DEFAULT He cured us from sickness and disease.  You can’t pull out the root (the sin nature) without it also affecting the fruit (sickness and disease).  Physical healing is a by-product of our salvation!

When in Colossians 1:14 it says of Jesus, “In Whom we have redemption through His blood, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS,” that automatically includes physical healing for our body as well.  Why?  Because when Jesus paid for our sins, He by default also paid for our sickness and disease.  You can’t cure one without also curing the other!

So every time you read about the forgiveness of sin in the Bible, know that it also includes healing for your body as well!  They go together!  As a matter of fact, physical healing is proof that Jesus has redeemed us from sin!  If Jesus did not provide physical healing for us at the cross, then He did not provide forgiveness of sin either!

In Luke 5:24 Jesus said that healing was PROOF that He could forgive sins when He said, “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”- He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say unto you, arise, take up your bed and go to your house.”

Why would physical healing be PROOF that Jesus could forgive our sins?  Because sickness is one of the many symptoms of man kind’s fallen sin nature.  If Jesus has a cure for the symptom, that means He must also have a cure for the root cause as well!

Confession:  I am saved, forgiven and healed in Jesus’ name!  My healing was purchased at the same place, and at the same time, as my salvation from sin.
