Day 104: Creative Power Of Words

Day 104: Creative Power Of Words
April 13, 2015 Joel Grantham

“There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.”  Proverbs 12:18

The old saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me,” is simply not true.  Actually words can do far greater damage than mere sticks and stones.

Words are the building blocks of all life.  In Hebrews 11:3 the Scripture tells us that everything was created by words.  If words created everything, then that would mean that words also govern everything.  In other words, every created thing responds to words.

In Mark 11:23 Jesus said that even mountains would respond to words.  Jesus used words to command the wind and waves (Mark 4:41), He spoke to a tree and it withered away (Mark 11:14), He also spoke a word of rebuke to a fever and it left (Luke 4:39).  These are just of few examples of how powerful words really are.

Romans 8:31 asks the question, “What then shall we SAY to these THINGS?”  Today people would think you strange if they heard you talking to a tree or a mountain.  But the Bible says that we should talk to “THINGS”.  As a matter of fact, what you SAY to the things in your life will determine the quality of those things.

Did you know that your words can literally bring health and healing to your body?  In Proverbs 18:21 it says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”  By simply speaking words of faith and healing to your body, you can talk your way into healing.

Most people who are sick only talk to God about their sickness.  While we should pray and talk to God about our sickness, we should also talk directly to our sickness.  You see, God has given you the authority over your own body.  You have the right to rebuke sickness and disease off your own body.

Our words have creative power because we were created in God’s image.  Think about it.  Human beings are God’s only creation that have the ability to speak.  God expects us to use our words the same way that He used His words.  Our words create our reality.  This is why you should never let words of fear or of sickness and disease come out of your mouth.  A wise person speaks only words of health and life over their body.

Confession:  I speak to my body and command every sickness and every pain to leave in Jesus’ name.  With my mouth I confess that my body is healthy and strong.
